As the Head of Sync Licensing, you will lead our innovative efforts to maximize the creative potential and monetization of our catalog through synchronization licensing. Based in our LA office, this role places you at the helm of partnerships and creative collaborations, where you will convert sync interest into impactful deals that not only drive revenue but also enhance the visibility and artistic reach of our catalog. We seek a visionary leader who can navigate the evolving digital media landscape with creativity and strategic acumen, ensuring that our licensing initiatives are both cutting-edge and commercially successful.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Licensing Management:

 - Lead and inspire a team to maximize revenue streams by strategically increasing the conversion rate of sync interest, leveraging your deep understanding of the processes involved with creative licensing.

 - Evaluate, negotiate, and finalize licensing requests with clients, applying a data-driven approach to identify and capitalize on significant opportunities.

 - Oversee the preparation of licensing requests for final approval, ensuring quick and effective turnaround times.


2. Partnership Development:

 - Cultivate and nurture strong, strategic relationships with music supervisors, creative directors and studios that producer film, television, advertising, trailers, video games, and other medias that require licensing of music for their projects

 - Cultivate and nurture strong, strategic relationships with other key publishing administrators, co-publishers, labels, and partners.

 - Lead negotiations to secure high-value, creative deals that not only boost revenue but also align with the artistic vision of our catalog.


3. Licensing Development:

 - Innovate by exploring and identifying emerging segments in the licensing market, developing creative strategies to tap into these opportunities and expand our global revenue base.


4. Operational Excellence:

 - Ensure the seamless management of the licensing process, from deal negotiation to contract administration and rights management, with a focus on creative and operational excellence.

 - Implement and advocate for best practices and streamlined workflows that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the creative potential of our licensing deals.

 - Collaborate across departments—legal, finance, and rights management—to ensure that every licensing agreement aligns with our creative and business objectives.

 - Drive innovation by proposing and executing solutions that meet the ever-evolving needs of the market, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in sync licensing.


Qualifications and Experience:


- Ideally, 10 years of proven experience in a senior creative licensing role within the music industry, with a strong background in both rights ownership and synch client/licensee relations.

- A demonstrated track record of securing high-profile, creatively-driven licensing deals that contribute to revenue growth and artistic success.

- A well-established network of industry contacts and relationships with key decision-makers in film, television, advertising, trailers, gaming, and sports within major sync markets.

- A deep understanding of the licensing landscape, including emerging trends, technologies, and market dynamics, with an ability to foresee and adapt to industry shifts.

- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong creative vision.

- A strategic thinker with a forward-looking mindset, capable of adapting to and influencing a rapidly changing industry.
