
Director, E-commerce and Digital Strategy
Light in the Attic seeks an experienced E-commerce professional with 7+ years of experience, preferably in the area of vinyl records, music, music-related merchandise and/or entertainment to manage performance of the brand’s Worldwide wholesale and direct to consumer businesses. This position will collaborate cross-functionally with several teams and own initiatives including Site Content & Merchandising, UX/UI, Artist Sales Channels, Product/Offering/Sales Ideation, and Digital Strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a functional knowledge of recorded music sales channels and is collaborative, commercially minded, sales-driven, and thrives balancing between execution of short-term tactics and development of longer-term strategy implementation. A passion for music and respect for a diverse array of fandoms across an array of genres, styles, regions, and eras is a must.
You will:
- Act as primary owner of Lightintheattic.net and a select number of LITA Artist online stores
- Manage the day-to-day operations and financial performance of the Light in the Attic E-commerce business across Wholesale (B2B) and Direct to Consumer (D2C) channels (including partner and Artist storefronts), executing plans and strategies designed to improve sales, conversion, productivity, and other KPIs
- Build and maintain relationships and trust management, Artists, and their teams to ensure LITA and its partners are represented well online and that campaign objectives and deliverables are executed in a timely manner
- Ensure all internal stakeholders are aware of product launches, sales, promotions, and initiatives
- Drive team to ensure all information and assets needed to execute marketing and site creative (sales sheet, pricing, descriptions, images, advertising creative etc.) is delivered in a timely manner for a seamless roll-out
- Project manage follow-throughs and logistics for any approved and active store-related marketing campaigns, including ad spends, social campaigns, email marketing, SMS, wishlist etc
- Develop and refine digital project strategy across B2B and D2C, identifying short, medium, and long-term opportunities to improve and lead Light in the Attic’ E-commerce strategies and market positioning
- Partner with Executive, Purchasing, and Operations teams to constantly analyze business metrics, sales trends, and customer behavior, and develop actionable cross-functional plans to maximize growth and profitability
- Create and deliver regular business performance summaries by sales channel, with a consistent focus on developing insights and action-oriented recommendations
- Develop and execute Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) strategies that lead to improvement in key business metrics such as gross margin, customer acquisition and retention, and sales productivity
- Create and oversee consistent site-testing plans with internal and external stakeholders including use of testing tools, make recommendations and implement site upgrades, application add-ons, and other tools to help facilitate the achievement of company goals and improve customer retention and growth across B2B and D2C channels (including partner and Artist storefronts)
- Surface and address needs of Light in the Attic dot net sales channels with internal stakeholders and liaise with third party developer to achieve resolution, upgrade, maintenance, or other
- Manage systems and tools including Content Management Systems (CMS), CRM channels, product catalogs, testing tool
- Stay on top E-commerce and digital marketing trends and technologies
- Continually develop and refine knowledge of Shopify and its tools and applications
- Other duties as assigned
What we look for in you (i.e. job requirements):
- 3+ years in Shopify required
- 7+ years of experience in an E-commerce business, Marketing and/or Digital Strategy role
- 5+ years of experience working in the online Music Retail world
- Demonstrated track record of leading a team to drive E-commerce sales for an established, comparable organization
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills to business partners at different levels
- Meticulous attention to detail and follow through
- A passion for collaboration, growth, music and the Light in the Attic brand
- Confidence to execute autonomously in a fully remote environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask and prioritize, with excellent time management skills
- Organized and process-based mindset, with persistent follow through
- Ability to treat confidential information with discretion

- Ideal candidates will have a passion for music, especially archival reissues, but most importantly an open mind and general appreciation the broad audiences served by Light in the Attic
- Proficient with G-Suite (Sheets, Docs, Calendar, Email, G-Drive, etc), Slack, Asana, and Zoom or similar platforms
