Head of Strategy

Stem enables independent artists to build their businesses. Our tools empower indie musicians and their teams to distribute music, collect royalties from streaming platforms, pay their collaborators, and take out advances on their future earnings.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as conduit between client & product teams and CEO, with goal of bridging long-term vision to short-term executable goals
  • Be an independent voice in assessing and analyzing the strategy for the company
  • Create strategic framework and facilitate consensus amongst executive team for company’s highest priority items including new business, success metrics, and resource allocation
  • Work with business to craft narrative and key priorities for quarterly board materials and ad-hoc requests
  • Lead creation of fundraising materials & support CEO in investor conversations, when appropriate
  • Identify market white spaces and suggest/execute new approaches to increase volume
  • Be data-oriented in pulling data and producing data-backed analysis
  • Establish key operational metrics, build measurement tools, and manage company to targets
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and suggest strategies to rapidly, and effectively, address inefficiencies
  • Take responsibility for suggesting resource allocation to ensure targets are met

Our Ideal Candidate has:

  • Experience building consensus and streamlining communication across internal teams as well as external stakeholders
  • Experience leading fundraising campaigns, sell-side processes & acquisitions
  • Knowledge on Valuation and Financial Product structuring best practices
  • Experience managing Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Been successful implementing operational efficiency practices & metrics
  • Proficient experience using SQL & other data management tools
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of our competitive landscape
  • A value-creation mindset
  • Experience in preparing board materials
