Hours: 40/week, Monday - Friday, 9am-6pm
Location: Brooklyn, NY; Los Angeles, CA

Company Summary: Ghostly International is an independently owned music company that is affiliated with and shares staff with Secretly Group. Ghostly is distributed internationally by Secretly Distribution, and is headquartered in Brooklyn, with offices in Los Angeles, London, Bloomington, Ind., and additional staff in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, and beyond. We release music by artists such as Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Kate Bollinger, Brijean, Matthew Dear, Galcher Lustwerk,, Mary Lattimore, and Hana Vu.
Ghostly International seeks a Marketing Director for its label as well as soon-to-be-announced labels it is adding to its orbit as a newly formed label group. The ideal candidate should be well versed in a variety of genres and able to serve releases across the group, whose focus may include indie/alternative. electronic, Hip-Hop, R&B and more.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about our existing roster, with a love of artist development and a forward-looking approach to the ways artists are presented in modern culture. Currently, Ghostly International is remote work from home but once it is deemed safe to return to the office this position is based in our New York or Los Angeles office and reports to our Chief Creative Officer/ Co-Founder. The ideal candidate is passionate about working on campaigns from the earliest days of an artist’s career to working with successful artists with an existing global fanbase. This person has a deep understanding of the current market, is passionate about emerging trends in artist marketing, and excited for the future of music. The ideal candidate can build relationships and trust with others, has strong communication skills, and can speak articulately about both music and marketing. We are looking for someone who can be a leader at Ghostly International, who loves collaboration and flourishes while working closely with artists, managers, partners, and co-workers alike. This role includes direct management of several staff and the ideal candidate will be both an excellent manager and mentor.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Conceive and implement industry-leading marketing campaigns, including engineering cultural moments, and marketing strategies for Ghostly International artists in North America
- Communicate and synchronize campaigns with operations, promotions, digital and marketing teams, ensuring a global approach to campaigns
- Develop, manage and analyze marketing budgets
- Provide creative leadership for all elements of artist marketing, including retail marketing, advertising, social media and more
- Oversee the narrative surrounding each marketing campaign, insuring Ghostly International artists’ stories are central to their presentation
- Analyzing and quantifying success and efficiency of campaigns and the tools used
- Work closely with record stores and physical distribution partners on retail marketing and other partnerships
- Managing the local marketing team, including Director of Retail and Director of Communications
- Work closely with the global marketing team and third parties across digital advertising strategy, DSP marketing, D2C, social strategy, influencer/viral strategy, and outdoor marketing
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years’ experience in music marketing or project management
- Track record of leading, developing, and executing successful marketing campaigns
- Able to meet multiple competing deadlines and thrive in a fast paced working environment
- Deep engagement in current music marketing trends, including digital innovations and digital marketing and promotion opportunities
- Hands-on experience with marketing, including digital advertising, data strategy, social strategy, new technologies, and influencer marketing
- A history of closely working with artists and managers
- Experience working with artists at all stages of development
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Ability to network with clients and industry contacts
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with a progressive and creative attitude
