Title: Label Coordinator
Status: Full-time Non-exempt
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm PT
Location: Los Angeles, CA (remote until further notice)
Reports to: Secretly Group Chief Operating Officer
The Company: Saddest Factory Records (SFR) is the record label launched by Phoebe Bridgers, and is an imprint of Dead Oceans, a subsidiary of Secretly Group. Recent SFR artist signings include Charlie Hickey, Claud, Muna and Scruffpuppie.
Position Overview: The Label Coordinator will serve as the primary operational point of contact for Saddest Factory Records and run day-to-day maintenance of the label’s socials consistent with the communication strategy and label identity. This is a full-time position, initially reporting to the COO at Secretly Group, or to another operations professional as designated by senior management. The position will be based in our Los Angeles office.
Serve as the primary operational point of contact for Saddest Factory Records (SFR):
- Be the main conduit between SFR A&R and the wider Secretly Group team, making sure communication is flowing in both directions
- Oversee and communicate macro release schedule to the Secretly Group staff
- Facilitate release details between Artists and the wider Secretly Group Team
- Ensure coordination of marketing, promo and sales information and activities among the Secretly Group Team, and SFR A&R, artists, and the artists’ managers
- Support project management timelines and deliverables, and transparent workflow among the extended team
- Act as day to day point person for artists and their management teams
- Scheduling of meetings with artist / wider marketing team
- Occasionally attending video/photo shoots and other out of office activities
- Supply the Secretly Group and external teams with the necessary tools and assets to successfully implement campaigns
- Liaising with project teams in US and overseas
- Work with artists/managers to ensure deadlines are met for music, assets and other related materials
- Join an array of meetings around Saddest Factory Records artists/campaigns and ensure notes from these meetings circulate across Secretly Group departments
Day to day maintenance of Saddest Factory Records social media accounts & mailing list consistent with the communication strategy/label identity:
- Run day to day social media for Saddest Factory Records and its artists
- Develop and maintain unique franchises on label social media channels
- Develop and run the SFR email list
- Update the SFR website
The Ideal Candidate:
- 2 or more years full time experience in a record label or artist management firm supporting social media, a&r, artist development, music production, and/or artist management
- Fluency managing social media accounts across multiple platforms
- Data analytics: comfort level with collecting, analyzing, interpreting and making informed decisions with social media and streaming data
- Experience managing projects and maintaining project budgets
- Passion for the SFR artist roster, and understanding of the label’s and artists’ ethos, audience and story
- Self motivated with excellent organizational skills, time management, and an ability to prioritize; adaptable to fast paced environment with multiple competing deadlines
- Passionate about music and the music industry with drive and enthusiasm to chase new opportunities
- Have exceptional networking and communication skills
- An in-depth knowledge of the current music market, new music trends, music business development, products, and challenges
- Be able to handle confidential matters appropriately and with discretion
- Hands-on, resourceful music professional
- Demonstrated ability of taking initiative, working autonomously and exercising good judgment including knowing when to escalate issues or seek advance approval
- The ability to travel, occasionally on short notice
