About the Label Administration Department

The Label Administration department handles complex music royalty accounting for independent music labels, legacy artists and sound recording catalog owners. The Label Administration department at GRF is part of the Royalty Group which includes Music Audit, TV/Film Audit, Valuation and Music Publishing departments. 

 

Summary/Objective: The Senior Analyst, Label Administration, is responsible for preparing royalty statements and allocation schedules on behalf of independent record label and music clients.

 

Supervisory Responsibility: Informal supervision of permanent or temporary staff assigned to data entry

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare artist, producer, mechanical or net profit music royalty accountings for independent label clients
  • Summarize artist and third-party agreements and apply key provisions to the preparation of royalty statements
  • Analyze sales data files from various distribution sources
  • Music product metadata, artist royalty rates and mechanical license setup in royalty accounting software
  • Mechanical royalty preparation which includes confirming publishing splits and obtaining mechanical licenses.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of recording agreements and royalty calculations
  • Strong working knowledge of royalty accounting software (RoyaltyShare, Curve, Record Maestro, or SR1)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Excel including pivot tables and formulas)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Efficient use of time and can prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a trusting relationship with staff and clients

 

Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience in similar role

 

Preferred Education & Experience: 3+ years of experience in similar role


Work Environment & Physical Demands: This job operates in an office setting. The role routinely uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, etc.). This is a largely sedentary role, but some duties may require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on occasion.


Hybrid Work Eligibility: This position is eligible for hybrid work. The hybrid work arrangement may be adjusted or altered to fill the needs of the role, including potentially working in-office for 3+ days per week.

This is a non-exempt, overtime eligible position. Employee compensation is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, employee education/training/credentials, employee work experience, work location (including if the employee will be hybrid or fully in-office), the scope and responsibilities of the role, internal peer equity, and market considerations. The expected base compensation hiring range for these positions is as follows:

  • Sr. Analyst: $70,034 to $80,538 per year
