To strengthen the expanding efforts in North America and key English-speaking territories of ALTER K GLOBAL MUSIC SERVICES, ALTER K INC is looking for an Associate to support and manage our growing publishing catalog in these crucial markets.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As Associate, Repertoire & Copyright for ALTER K’s Publishing division, you will play a key role in managing and organizing our expanding music publishing catalog. You’ll primarily focus on both the parent company’s (i) owned and (ii) administrated catalogs while also overseeing the development of the company’s (iii) subsidiary catalog in North America and other key English-speaking territories. Reporting to the Head of Publishing and working closely with the publishing team in France, you will also be in touch with the Head of U.S. Operations based in New York. A central focus of your role will be on copyright management across North America and the United Kingdom, supporting the group’s growth initiatives in these regions.
• Manage copyright registrations and tracking across all relevant PROs (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SOCAN & SODRAC, PRS & MCPS).
• Track and manage CWR registrations through MusicMark & ICE in collaboration with the appropriate PROs.
• Oversee cue sheet registrations and track music use across ALTER K INC’s territories, including synchronizations, live performances, TV broadcasts, radio, streaming, and more.
• Foster and maintain daily communication with PROs, leveraging an existing network of industry contacts.
• Monitor legal developments in copyright and publishing issues to ensure compliance and proactive adaptation to industry changes.
WHO YOU ARE
• 3+ years experience working in copyright administration, ideally with an understanding of the US and UK publishing markets.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and autonomy, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and publishing software
• A general understanding of the music industry, especially regarding the Anglo-Saxon publishing market
• A desire to champion and grow our publishing activities in the previously mentioned markets, with an entrepreneurial spirit and attention to detail to ensure the smooth operation of ALTER K INC. publishing division.
• Speaking French is a plus.
