Marketing Coordinator, The Glow

The Company

The Glow Management is an artist management company based in Durham, North Carolina.  In its fifth year and growing, their current roster includes artists such as MJ Lenderman (ANTI-), Hippo Campus (Psychic Hotline), Hotline TNT (Third Man), Sylvan Esso (Psychic Hotline), and Wednesday (Dead Oceans).  


Position Summary

The Glow is hiring a Marketing Coordinator, with a focus on social media, marketing copy, asset creation and digital marketing.  This is a new position that will work directly with the Marketing Director across The Glow’s roster to help build artists’ businesses.  The role will drive awareness, engagement and consumption across digital channels in alignment with artists, their teams and labels.  The candidate will be based in Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia or North Carolina (Durham or Asheville) and will report to the Marketing Director.


Specific Responsibilities

Core:

    Social Media

o    Manage and build social media accounts for artists on platforms including Instagram, X, Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.

o    Drive and execute socials strategy across platforms, especially TikTok and YouTube.

o    Effectively communicate and collaborate with artists to create strategies on how best to approach social media and direct communications with each artist’s fans.

o    Conduct community and fan communication across newsletters, Discord, Reddit, Threads and other direct tools.

    Storytelling / Marketing Materials / Communications

o    Create and maintain one sheets/pitch decks.

o    Leverage strong writing and storytelling skills to produce creative assets and other relevant communications for internal and external stakeholders.

o     Produce compelling, timely and cost-effective visual assets using basic graphic design, video editing, and web design tools.

    Digital

o    Generate digital advertising strategies that successfully build audiences. 

o    Oversee and run D2C web sales.


Preferred:

    Branding / Funding

o    Create and manage relationships with brands, execute brand campaigns and secure sponsorship/funding.

o    Create new or pursue participation in existing private events and other partnership opportunities.

o    Write grants to access additional potential funding streams.

    Oversee and run D2C and webstore sales channels. 

    Understand tour marketing and its relationship to overall artist marketing strategies.

    Pitch DSPs, leveraging existing DSP relationships while simultaneously building new contacts. 


Qualifications

    3-5 years of social media marketing or music marketing experience at a label or artist marketing firm.

    Affinity for and/or experience with relevant genres.

    Excellence with both social media platforms (Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, X, Meta, Instagram, Facebook, Discord, Reddit) and workplace management platforms (Google Suite, etc.)

    Proficient with marketing and creative platforms including Adobe Suite, Mailchimp, Canva, Squarespace, Final Cut, etc.

    Strong portfolio of writing and design work.

    Track record of using digital data effectively to identify optimal potential partners, to network and to build out key relationship.

    Willing to trial new ideas and adapt to changing marketing models and algorithms as they evolve.

    Self-motivated and independent with the discipline to work effectively remotely.

    Intuitive, self-starting and well organized with strong communication skills.


Compensation

Competitive salary, incentive and benefits will be offered, commensurate with the role and the final hire’s experience.  Depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, network and location of the final hire, the starting base salary base salary is anticipated at an annual rate of $60,000 to $70,000 plus benefits.
