Because Music

About

Created in 2004 by Emmanuel de Buretel, the Because Music label immediately established itself with the worldwide release of the album “Dimanche à Bamako” by Amadou & Mariam who has sold over 500,000 albums. Other prestigious artists also joined the label from its inception including Keziah Jones, Catherine Ringer and Manu Chao. Because Music has also enabled the emergence of new artists such as Charlotte Gainsbourg or Justice, who have sold hundreds of thousands of albums all over the world. Because Music is also a recognized name in urban music through artists Keny Arkana, Guizmo and more recently Kekra, Lartiste and Marwa Loud. In only fifteen years of existence, Because Music has clearly positioned itself as the leader of independent labels in France, benefiting from the 360-degree synergies of the Because Group's activities and its presence in Paris and London. The new generation of artists is also very promising with Christine & The Queens, Selah Sue, Metronomy, Django Django and more recently Major Lazer. Because is also developing a new generation of promising artists such as Minuit or Lido. The group strengthens its presence in Great Britain by acquiring the legendary label London Records. 2018 was marked by the successes of artists Marwa Loud and Lartiste. In 2018, Because Music signed an international partnership with Caroline (UMG Group) and opened offices in Los Angeles.
